Rachel de lange was a daughter of Israel de Lange and Mina Koopman. She married 2 April 1930 in Amsterdam to Nathan Witteboon, son of Meijer Witteboon and Eva Schellevis. Nathan however passed away already on 21 November 1936.
Rachel and Nathan had three children: Eva, Max and Nathan.
