Herman Salomon van Moppes was arrested on 7 April 1942 by order of 'Referat IV-B4' in The Hague and imprisoned in Scheveningen. Via camp Amersfoort Herman Salomon van Moppes arrived in concentration camp Mauthausen, where he died on 11 November 1942. His spouse and five children (of whom four still lived at home) survived the war.
