Clara Kanteman was unmarried. She lived for a while with her nephew Simon Philip Kanteman and his family; from 1933 she lived with her brother Meijer Levie Juda Kanteman; then with other relatives.

On 12 April 1943 Clara Kanteman was transported in a bus as a 'sitting patient' from Enschede to Westerbork. This is mentioned in a letter to the Jewish Council Enschede dated 13 April 1943.
