Erich Hertz was a chemist. He was a son of Louis Hertz and Klara Hertz-Dahl. He lived with his parents at 31 Armhoefstraat in Tilburg. He was unmarried.
In October 1942 the Tilburg police commissioner published a request for information about his whereabouts. He was suspected of having changed his place of residence without the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.
The Hertz family had gone into hiding in early October. On 31 March 1943 they were caught in Tilburg. Erich Hertz died at Vught concentration camp on 5 April 1943.
