Salomon (Sal) van Dam was a member of the Revolutionair Socialistisch Jeugdverbond.

Salomon van Dam married in 1939. His wife had escaped Vienna through a marriage of convenience with a non-Jewish Dutchman. She had two children from her first marriage and a third with Salomon van Dam. Salomon van Dam’s wife and children survived the war.
