Betrina Regine (known as Tine) den Hartog was the youngest daughter of Abraham den Hartog and Leentje den Hartog. After completing primary school, she attended a secondary school in Rotterdam. She trained as a nurse and was hired at the Nieuw Israëlitisch Ziekenhuis (new Jewish hospital) in Amsterdam.
As a nurse, Tine received a Sperre from the Jewish Council. This Sperre entitled her to a temporary reprieve from the Arbeitseinsatz.
Tine transferred from the Nieuw Israëlitisch Ziekenhuis in Amsterdam to the Israëlitisch Ziekenhuis (Jewish hospital) on the Schietbaanlaan in Rotterdam, where her sister Elisabeth was the director.
In the early morning hours of 26 February 1943, the Sicherheitspolizei raided the Israëlitisch Ziekenhuis in Rotterdam aided by the volunteer auxiliary police. All patients and nurses were deported to Westerbork, including Betrina Regine den Hartog. At Westerbork she worked in the hospital there. On 3 March 1944 she was deported to Auschwitz.
