About Jonas Swart

Jonas Swart was the eighth of the nine children of the merchant Levie Swart and Frouwke Kropveld. His father died in Amsterdam on 17 January 1940. Jonas Swart was born at 187 Valkenburgerstraat in Amsterdam.

Jonas Swart was a tin smelter. He married on 25 February 1942. He and his wife had no children. Jonas Swart boxed at the D.O.S. association in Amsterdam.
Jacob Swart's wife survived the war.
Copies remain of Jonas Swart's birth and marriage certificates; there are also the originals of the general authorization he issued from Westerbork to his wife on 27 June 1943, excerpts from the register of births and the register of deaths and his certificate from the Nederlandsche Boksbond, including his start card and record sheet.
