Abraham Wurms, born 19 June 1857, was a son of Philip Wurms and Sipora Joseph Slier. He married in Amsterdam on 29 November 1876 to Femmetje Verdoner, daughter of Hartog Mozes Verdoner and Mina Judic Bromet. However, she passed away in Amsterdam on 19 Januari 1937.
The couple had twelve children of whom the twinbrothers Joseph and Hijman both died in 1892, only a few months old. Also Sipora, Hartog and Mietje died in childhood. Their eldest son Philip was interred on 23 September 1928 at the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen and Philip's 2nd wife Jansje Peekel died 7 October 1936 Amsterdam.
The other six children, Branca, Juda, Barend, Mozes, Meijer and Hartog have died during the period 1940-1945, on the understanding that Branca died on 2 April 1942 in Amsterdam but the other five children were murdered during the Shoah.
