About Anna Segal-Scholte

Anna Scholte was a daughter of Barend Scholte and Grietje Borstel. She married 7 September 1931 in Amsterdam to the widower of Esther de Magtige, Meijer Segal, a son of Isaac Segal and Sipora Fransman. From the marriage of Meijer and Anna, seven children have been born: two of them survived the war; one died only 1 year old. The others, the still at home living Barend, Levie and Hijman, and the in the Pedagogium Achisomog residing Leopold, were all killed during the Holocaust.
Anna Scholte was born in a family with eight children, of whom two children have died already in 1895 at a very young age. One brother, who was married to Martha Monnickendam, survived the war and was remarried in 1950. Anna's other siblings, Levie, Leentje, Samuel and Klaartje have been killed all during the Holocaust too.
