Betje Pampel was a daughter of Mozes Pampel and Saartje Digtmaker. She married 21 June 1899 to Levie Vlessing, a son of Izaak Vlessina and Marianne Ketellapper. The couple had seven children; two sons have survived the war, but not Sara, Jonas, Lea, David and Abraham, (who was married but recorded at the same address as his mother and sister).
Levie Vlessing however has passed away, aged 42, on 4 April 1919 in Amsterdam.
Betje was born in a family with ten children. One baby brother and a baby sister have died at a very young age and her brother Abraham died in December 1941 in Amsterdam and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen. Her other sisters, namely Schoontje, Roosje, Rachel, Klara, Esther and Eva have been killed during the Holocaust.
