Levie Scholte was a son of Barend Scholte and Grietje Borstel (both deceased before the war). He married 12 May 1920 in Amsterdam to Vrouwtje Schelvis, a daughter of Nathan Schelvis and Duifje Dagloonder. The couple had three children.
Levie Scholte was born in a family with eight children, of whom two children have died already in 1895 at a very young age. One brother, who was married to Martha Monnickendam, survived the war and was remarried in 1950. Levie’s other siblings, Leentje, Anna, Samuel and Klaartje have been killed all during the Holocaust.
