Abraham de Rooy(de Rooij) was a son of Mozes de Rooij and Sara Boeken, a family with eleven children: Keetje, Jacob, Betje (who passed already in 1908, Rebecca, Hartog, Esther, Samson, Pinehas, Coenraad, who has survived the Holocaust, Rachel and Abraham himself.
Abraham married in Amsterdam on 27 October 1904 to Kaatje Cartoef, who however passed away there on 13 januari 1925 .
Abraham and Kaatje had together six children, of whom daughter Sara and the sons Jacob (Jaap) and Barend (Bobbie) have survived the Holocaust, however Mozes (Maurits), Nehemias (Nathan) and Branca got killed in Auschwitz and Sobibor.
Afther the deeath of his first wife, Abraham married again on 3 March 1926 in Amsterdam to Mathilda Root.
Abraham had another brother Hartog de Rooij.
