About Mozes de Hes

On 1 July 1883 Mozes de Hes passed the examination for the lowest level of religious instructor at the Nederlands Israëlitisch Seminarium in Amsterdam. He started as a religious instructor in Doetinchem and subsequently served as such in Smilde, Roermond, Gorredijk (23 years) and Vlissingen. On 7 March 1926 he was appointed teacher and cantor of the Jewish community in Bergen op Zoom, where he was officially inaugurated on Friday, 16 April 1926. On his 70th birthday in 1934 he was knighted in the order of Oranje-Nassau. In 1942 Mozes de Hes Moved to Amsterdam.
