Biography

About Thomas Alfred Wolff

Thomas Alfred Wolff, or Tommy Wolf, was the son of Jewsish refugees from Germany. The family lived at several addresses in Amsterdam. The last known address was Boterdiepstraat number 14. During the war Tommy was brought to Koog aan de Zaan. There he was allowed to move in with a physician and his wife.
To hide his Jewish origins the double 'f' in his last name was removed and fictitious parents, birthdate and birthplace were used (Zaandijk, 3 May 1939). These data are still mentioned on his death certificate from Westerbork.
After having been betrayed Tommy was arrested and taken to Amsterdam. From there he was sent to Westerbork. When he arrived there on 30 November 1943 he was put in the orphanage. His parents and their second child survived the war.
