Benjamin de Klijn was the son of Nathan de Klijn and Mietje Visser. He was first married to Bertha Cohen. She passed away in 1917. The couple had seven children: Abraham, Fietje, Elisabeth, Rebecca, Marianne Mathilde, Naatje and one child that survived the war. Benjamin de Klijn remarried to Duifje Peperwortel in 1919 in Amsterdam.
