About Cornelia Philips van Buren-Polak

Cornelia Polak was a daughter of Jonas Mozes Polak from Zwolle and Dina Marsman from Oegstgeest. She married 4 May 1905 the widower of Elisabeth Spiro from Geldern (Germany), (born 7 September 1853 - died in Amsterdam 2 November 1903), Mozes Philips van Buren, musician, a not legalized natural son of Carolina Philips. From the marriage of Cornelia Polak and Mozes Philips van Buren a son was born in 1906, named Henri, who has been killed in Auschwitz on 12 August 1942. Her husband Mozes Philips van Buren passed away in Amsterdam on 4 March 1930 and has been interred one day later in the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen. Cornelia self was registered in transit camp Westerbork on 21 November 1942, has been deported to Auschwitz on 20 November, where she has been killed upon arrival there on 3 December 1942.
