In a letter of 1942 Rosine Franken-Rozelaar wrote that she had had two miscarriages in four years time but had three children nonetheless. She was married to Maurits Franken on 28 May 1912. They celebrated this on 30 May 1942, together with the engagement of their daughter, 'in an intimate family diner despite the sad and increasingly worrying circumstances'.
