Marcus Schuitevoerder was a son of Hartog Schuitevoerder and Mientje Vlessing. He married to Saartje Wegloop in Amsterdam on 4 March 1885, a daughter of Levie Salomon Wegloop and Rebekka Sturk. Marcus and Saartje had eight children together: Hartog, Louis, Salomon, ( married in 1912 to Betsy Maandag, divorced in 1924, married in 1928 the 2nd time to Margaretha Sophia de Vries), deceased in 1938), Mina, Rebecca, Marianne, Lea and Jacob, who died in 1904 only 1 year old.
Saartje Wegloop however passed away on 5 July 1920 in Amsterdam and after her death, Marcus remarried Saartje's sister Rachel Wegloop on 16 November 1921 in Zaandam.
