Samuel Blog was a son of Levie Blog en Sara van Collem. He married Rachel Luza, a daughter of Nathan Luza and Sophia Davidson, in Amsterdam on 23 April 1925.
His siblings Marcus, Rachel, David, Elizabeth, Jacob and Debora have been killed too in the Holocaust.
