Erwin Michael Joseph was a son of Kurt Joseph, who has been passed away in the years '30. His mother remarried.
During the war, Erwin Michael Joseph, his mother and stepfather went into hiding. In an attempt to escape The Netherlands with the help of the resistance and people smugglers, he was killed in the surroundings of Deurne. His mortal remains were buried at the Protestant Cemetery in Deurne. In 1994, the part of the cemetery were the grave of Erwin Michael Joseph was located, was declared officially as Jewish Cemetery.
