Clara Johanna Suzanna de Vries was a jazz trumpeter. It was Clara’s playing in Cabaret Alcazar at Thorbeckeplein, Amsterdam, on 9 February 1941, that prompted the WA to attack Alcazar. This was one of the incidents that led to the riots of 11 February in which the WA member Koot was killed.
