Abraham de Lieme and his family

Abraham de Lieme appears on a handwritten list of all persons who held offices in the Dutch-Jewish community of Haarlem during the early years of the war. Photographs remain of each official. Abraham de Lieme was deputy chairman of the Dutch-Jewish community in Haarlem, deputy chairman of the Dutch-Jewish Joles Hospital, archivist for the Dutch-Jewish community of Haarlem and the religious institution Gemieloeth Chassadiem, a member of the permanent committee for general affairs of the Dutch-Jewish Congregation, treasurer of the North Holland Synagogue district.

Abraham de Lieme was married to Frederica Hirsch, director of the religious institution Gemieloeth Chassadiem. The couple lived at 168 rd Sloterweg in Haarlem.

In addition, a Jokos file (number 13824) on this family is at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 7579/8507).
