Abraham Montanjees and his family

Abraham Montanjees lived with his wife and child at 116 Deurloostraat, second floor, in Amsterdam. The family went into hiding. Abraham was caught, while his wife and child survived the war. Abraham Montanjees was transferred to the convict prison in Arnhem, where a few items of jewelry were looted from him.

The archive of the Stichting Sieraden-Comité contains a list of the items of jewelry looted and a statement of the right to inheritance from 1960.

We have been unable to determine whether one or more members of this family survived the war. While their names do not appear on the lists of survivors, we have not been able to trace them in In Memoriam either. They are therefore labeled as 'surviving' and their names are not listed.

In addition, a Jokos file (number 6464) on this family is at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.
