Joseph Werkendam was the son of Machiel Werkendam and Esther Wessel. He was a tailor. He was married to Alida Suesan. The couple lived at the Tugelaweg 53 in Amsterdam. On 3 March 1943, Joseph Werkendam died in concentration camp Vught.
