Widow Esje Barendse-Barendse and her family

The last address of Esje Barendse-Barendse was 123 Scheldestraat in The Hague. She became the widow of Isaac Jacob Barendse on 17 February 1936. In early 1943 she was deported to Westerbork and from there to Auschwitz on 29 January 1943. She was killed in Auschwitz on 1 February 1943. Of her thirteen children, two survived the war.

Esje Barendse had five daugthers and eight sons. Two of them were mixed married. Her husband, Isaac Jacob Barendse, born 1873 in Rotterdam, is buried in Wassenaar (ZH).
