Simon van Dam and his family

Golda van Coevorden got married to Simon van Dam in Groningen at 7 July 1938. The couple moved into the house at Schreiershoek 23 (now nr 26) in Leek. The parents of Simon van Dam, Izaäk van Dam and Hester Oudgenoeg, came to live with them.
In April 1941 their son Izaäk was born. At 27 November 1942 Golda and her son Izaäk were arrested in Leek and transported to Westerbork. At that point Simon had already died at Auschwitz.

In addition, a Jokos file (number 54634) on this household is at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 1).
