Jacob was the son of Simon and Mietje Bollegraaf. Jacob married in 1914 to Aaltje Kropveld. They had two children: Izak en Mietje. Aaltje died on 26th August 1921.
Jacob married in 1922 for the second time to Hester Bollegraaf, daughter of Berend Bollegraaf and Hendel Levie. Hester and Jacob had three children: Aaltje Rieka, Henderina and Simon.
The husband of Mietje Issen-Bollegraaf survived the war.
