Jacob Mainzer and Bertha Morgenthau had four children who survived the war. In the thirties the couple fled from Frankfurt am Main and moved in with a child that lived in Russia. Life there was very difficult and in 1937 the couple moved to the Netherlands where two of their other children lived. They tried to get away to the USA, but this failed.
