Benedictus Simmeren told his former neighbours that he had rejected two options for hiding. The first time because the family could not stay together, the second time for fear. In 1942 the neighbours have bought a carafe of the family Simmeren to help them from acute financial distress. The carafe is still held by the former neighbours.
