Jacob Cohen was married to Henriëtta Menco. They had two children, of whom one survived the war, while the other one, Judicje was killed with her parents in Sobibor. The family lived at 14 Andreas Bonnstraat in Amsterdam. Jacob Cohen was a wholesale dealer of wool and silks.
The archive of the Stichting Sieraden-Comité contains a complete file from the damage investigation committee, a statement taken under oath and a statement of the right to inheritance from 1949.
