Menachem Birnbaum and his family

The police commissioner of Gouda requested that Menachem Birnbaum, a painter by trade, his wife Ernestine Birnbaum-Helfmann and their son Rafael and daughter Hanna be located, detained and brought to trial. They resided in Gouda and were suspected of having changed their place of residence without the required authorization on 5 October 1942. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.
