Maurits Blitz and his family

Maurits Blitz lived at 19 Zeestraat in Zandvoort. The list of Jewish firms that the municipal authorities of Zandvoort sent the Wirtschaftsprüfstelle on 26 July 1941 indicates that he owned a delicatessen at that address.

The police commissioner of Leiden requested that Maurits Blitz, a shopkeeper, be located, detained and brought to trial. He was suspected of having changed his place of residence without the required authorization. Requests for information regarding the whereabouts of his wife and two children were issued as well. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.
