Joël Goudsmid and his family

Joël Goudsmid was married to Sientje Leip. The couple had two daughters: Johanna and Hinderika. The family lived in the Bavinckstraat in Kampen. Joël Goudsmit was a trader in cattle, sheep and hides.

The daughter Hinderika (nickname Riek) was married and lived with her husband Maurits Manuel Rozeveld and their daughter Hendrika Sientje at 16 Oranjestraat in Assen. The daughter Johanna (nickname Jo) worked in the office of the dairy at the IJsseldijk in Kampen. She also did amateur drama. Johanna and her mother were rounded up from their home on 17 November 1942 and taken to the Buitensociëteit, from where they were taken to Westerbork the next day.
