Hartog Kleinkramer and his family

Hartog Kleinkramer and Cornelia Kleinkramer-den Hartogh lived at 104c Oostzeedijk in Rotterdam. They had three children, including a son Nathan Kleinkramer. Nathan was married to Sera Gerschtanowitz.
Hartog Kleinkramer was sent to a Jewish labour camp, Wittebrink near Hummelo. He was deported to Auschwitz via Westerbork with his wife, who came from the St. Franciscus hospital in Rotterdam.
The three children and their spouses intended to flee to Switzerland. Upon returning to the home of his parents to fetch some hidden items of jewelry, Nathan was caught. The two other children of the family survived the war.
The archive of the Stichting Sieraden-Comité contains a list of the stolen items of jewelry, a statement taken under oath and a statement of the right to inheritance from 1959.

Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 6473/14812).
