Abraham Jacobson and his family

Abraham Jacobson was the son of Joseph Jacobson and Rosette van der Borg. He was a sales representative. Abraham Jacobson was married. He and his wife lived at 167 Theresiastraat in The Hague. On 19 November 1943 Abraham Jacobson died at Vught concentration camp.

Abraham Jacobson was arrested on 10 March 1943 for failing to wear a Star of David. He was held at the Oranjehotel in Scheveningen until August 1943, and was then transferred to Vught concentration camp, where he worked in the Philips Commando. On 19 November 1943 he asked a guard for permission to go to the toilet. The guard gave him permission, but then shot him dead. The ‘official’ cause of death was ‘weak heart and blood vessels, pneumonia’.

We have been unable to determine whether one or more members of this family survived the war. While their names do not appear on the lists of survivors, we have not been able to trace them in In Memoriam either. They are therefore labeled as 'surviving' and their names are not listed.
