Nathan Swart, a diamond polisher by trade and the first of the seven children of Levie Swart and Maria Peper, married Heintje Schenkkan, daughter of Levie Schenkkan and Marianne Peper, on 25 August 1910.
The couple had three children: Isaäc, Marie and a child that survived the war.
