Barbara Sophia (Babette or Betty) and Dinah Elisabeth Kohnstamm were daughters of Mayer (Max) Kohnstamm and Sarah Wertheim. After growing up in Germany and the Netherlands Barbara Sophia married her cousin Carel Samuel Stokvis, son of professor Barend Joseph Stokvis. The couple had a child that survived the war.
