Simon van Hasselt and his family

Simon van Hasselt and Geertje Nieweg married in 1927 in Appingedam. They lived on Oudeweg 395. At the end of 1929 the family moved to Zwartemeer. In 1932 the family moved to Haulerwijk-beneden where Simon van Hasselt became headmaster. On 1 April 1941 he was fired and transferred to Winschoten on order of the nazis to start a Jewish school there. The family lived there on the Blijhamsterstraat 40a. In October 1941 the family moved to Groningen, where Simon van Hasselt became headmaster of the Jewish school.
