Salomon van der Kar was the son of Mozes van der Kar and Grietje van der Kar. He got married to Heintje Boeken, who was the daughter Salomon Boeken and Engeltje de Klijn. The couple had four children: Grietje, Marcus, Sientje and Engeltje.
