Nathan Engelsman and his family

Nathan Engelsman earned his living by selling vegetables and fruit as a street vendor. His wife, Dina, suffered from tuberculosis and spent some time at a sanatorium in Laren. The couple had two other children besides those mentioned here, both of whom died before the war. Dina, Simon and Max were sent to Westerbork and then deported to Auschwitz. Nathan was arrested during the raid at Jonas Daniel Meijerplein and died in Mauthausen.
