One of them no longer lived in the parental home but was married to a non-Jewish spouse. This family provided several hiding-places in the Utrecht area for the (adult) child who was still living at home. Lucas IJzerman’s poor state of health made it impossible to find hiding-places for him and his wife. They stayed with the family of Hartog IJzerman, Lucas’s brother, for several months. Eventually the two IJzerman couples were transported to Westerbork and from there to Sobibor.
