Jacob Machiel Taijtelbaum and Blanche Levie emigrated from New York to Amsterdam in 1934. Their first place of residence after they arrived from New York was the Carlton Hotel on the Vijzelstraat 14 in Amsterdam. Soon afterwards they moved to the Amstelkade 93. In 1937 the couple moved to Kade A 9 in Veere in the province of Zeeland. During the war, in 1942, Jacob and Blanche were presumably forced to move back to Amsterdam.
