Isaäc Kater was the son of Levie Isaac Kater and Marianna Peper. he was first married to Judith Erwteman. From this marriage eight children were born. After Judith Erwteman passed away in 1932, Isaäc Kater married Roosje Mok, daughter of Isaac Aron Mok en Jeannette Natkiel.
