Simon Leiser emigrated with his wife and one of his sons to the Netherlands in 1938, after he had been detained in the Sachsenhasuen camp and his son in Dachau. His other son came to the Netherlands in 1939 and lived in the Wieringermeer hakhshara settlement. A third child survived the war.
