In 1935 Dagobert Hildesheim married Grietje van der Hal, daughter of Samuel van der Hal and Kaatje Cohen. She had attended higher secondary school in Warffum. In 1942 Dagobert Hildesheim and his wife Grietje van der Hal resided at 15 Nassauplein in Groningen. They had a daughter, Carla Sophie. Following the death of her husband, Kaatje van der Hal-Cohen moved in with her daughter Grietje and her family.
