Isaac van Rijs was a son of Abraham van Rijs and Rebecca Hakker. He married 16 september 1903 in Amsterdam Heintje Bosboom, born 15 november 1874 in Amsterdam. Heintje was a daughter of Mozes Salomon Bosboom and Vogel van der Glas. Isaac and Heintje had two children: Vogelina Manassen-van Rijs (1904-1943) and Abraham van Rijs (1905-1943). Both the children and their families were killed in the Shoah.
Isaac van Rijs and his wife Heintje Bosboom were deported from Camp Westerbork to Auschwitz on 12 October 1942 and immediately killed upon arrival there on 15 October 1942.
