Carla Polak survived the war and came to the U.S. She gave an interview, code # 37684, for the USC Shoah Foundation Visual History Archive. At some point, in Perpignan, she was helped by vice-consul for the Netherlands Joseph Willem Kolkman. Kolkman was honored posthumously in May 2013 as "Righteous Among the Nations" by Yad Vashem.
