Transit camp for Jews in France, set up in an enclosed compound in a suburb of Paris.

Drancy was a camp in France that served the same function as Westerbork in the Netherlands. It was set up by the Vichy government and was managed by the French police until May 1943. Besides French Jews, those sent from Drancy to the death camps included Dutch Jews who had been staying in France or who had been arrested there while trying to reach Switzerland or Spain.
