Marianne Nunes Vaz

Marianne Nunes Vaz was a daughter of the musician Jacob Nunes Vaz (1823) and Ester Baruch Benavente (1822). She was born into a large family with at least eleven children. Some of them died already in childhood – others still before the war.

Marianne Nunes Vaz died on 8 February 1944 in Westerbork transit camp and she was cremated on 9 February 1944. The urn with her ashes was placed on the Portugese-Jewish cemetry in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel on field 1924, row CU 2, grave nr. S 12.
