Betje Hammelburg was eerder getrouwd geweest met Benjamin Zetter (9 augustus 1888 - 25 juli 1922). Met hem kreeg ze twee kinderen: Sophia Francisca en Philip. Sophia trouwde op 10 juli 1940 met Emanuel Moffie en kreeg op 16 oktober 1941 een dochter: Klara. (Sophia: 11 mei 1919 - 1 februari 2006)
